Point to your hand
So in case you were confused in the comic above - I went to school for 4 years in Rhode Island, so it's been awhile since I've been back to MI for any significant amount of time. At school, it seemed like we were all out of our element since most people that went to RISD are out-of-state anyway.
I most definitely DO NOT ever want to move back. All I've heard from the home front is how bad everything there is. Nobody is making money, Detroit is turning into (or is) an urban wasteland, and everyone with half a brain (sorry Dad!) is leaving. So the best that I can do when I feel these pangs of need for something familiar is find other Midwestern refugees and play some good ol' Euchre, pick-up hockey (I'm starting next week!!), or simply drink some whiskey and talk about how much the left is ruining everything. Ok - not so much the latter. I've tried to avoid politics like the plague. But hunting... I can't wait for November.
PS. It would be a travesty to NOT share my crush of the week, Capt. Jack Harkness from Torchwood. This week they're having a 5 part, episode-a-day season premiere. Needless to say there has been a lot of drooling.

That pheasant is BEAUTIFUL! I've never seen a male one before (just its feathers). Do they taste just as awesome as they look?
Also, I was crushing on Jack Harkness yesterday while watching the end of the first season of Doctor Who :)

Then there's those of us that're STUCK in the Big Hand State because we waited too long to try to get out, and now can't afford to.
